At Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon N.Y., Samuel Harrell was imprisoned, with a history of erratic behavior linked to bipolar disorder. He announced he was going home and packed his bags, he then was confronted with as many as twenty correctional officers, who threw him on the floor, handcuffed him, and reportedly beat him up. After this event Harrell was taken to the emergency room where after a couple of hours of being in the hospital he was pronounced dead. The manner of his death was homicide. None of the officers have been penalized due to this death.
